The Fayetteville Cumberland Economic Development Corporation (FCEDC) is pleased to announce two new additions to their team. Teddy Warner is now serving as Director of Business Development and Jimmy Abbatiello is the new Manager of Marketing & Communications. These hires return the organization’s team to its full strength.
Warner has a substantial background in economic and community development, having recently managed the Sandhills Region for the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina as the Regional Industry Manager. In this position, he was instrumental in helping companies and businesses throughout the 10-county region. He earned his Masters of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and his undergraduate from North Carolina State University in Political Science. In addition to extensive coursework at the UNC School of Government in economic and community development, he is a 2015 graduate of the UNC School of Government Leadership Fellows Program and a 2017 graduate of the NC Rural Center’s Rural Economic Development Institute Leadership Program.
Teddy was born and raised in Cumberland County and currently resides in Fayetteville with his wife, Tiffany, and daughter, Parker. “It’s been an absolute honor working in economic and community development in this region of North Carolina, but it’s even sweeter to have the opportunity to do this at home in Cumberland County,” Warner said.
Abbatiello will serve as the new Manager of Marketing & Communications. He has an extensive background in strategic marketing and public relations, recently working with the Early, TX Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau to lay the groundwork for their tourism strategy and city image. Abbatiello also worked for The Alara Group and as the Head of Digital Marketing and Reputation Management for eight high-end restaurants in the Fort Worth, Odessa, and San Angelo areas with Relative Marketing & Design. He is originally from the Texas Hill Country and is a graduate of Howard Payne University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Public and Media Communication.
When asked about his new role, Abbatiello said, “Cumberland County is in a period of fantastic growth and I am excited for the opportunity to work with the staff of the FCEDC to help empower the entire community to realize its full economic potential in the coming years.”
Robert Van Geons, FCEDC President has high expectations for the new team members and the organization as a whole. “We’ve been making steady progress over the last year, improving our operations, generating leads and attracting businesses to Cumberland County and Fayetteville. We are glad to have Jimmy and Teddy on board. I look forward to the results they will help us achieve for our community. “
